January 6 Committee Hearings

I am posting the videos of two panel discussions in which I participated that pertain to the January 6 Committee hearings. Both of them were recorded before the hearings began.

One is a panel put together by Business for America, an organization I have been involved with for the past year. It is a nonprofit organization geared toward getting the business community involved in protecting our democracy. The other video was produced by WKOW, the ABC affiliate in Madison, Wisconsin.

The January 6 Committee is doing an excellent job of presenting the facts regarding the planning and execution of the insurrection that took place that day. But it is becoming evident that it is more than just a one day event. The planning began on Election Night when it was obvious Trump was not going to win.

For the next two months, Trump and his misguided allies tried to overturn the election results notwithstanding private conversations with U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr and senior internal campaign advisors who told Trump there was no voter fraud. Other attorneys in the White House told the President the same thing. Trump made up claims of election fraud to stay in power.

As I mentioned in the videos, this scandal follows the outline of Watergate. I believe, like Watergate, many people will end up charged, convicted and imprisoned for their criminal acts.
