House Votes to Terminate Border Emergency Declaration

Terminating Border Emergency Declaration

The House’s overwhelming vote to uphold the Constitution and oppose President Trum’ps fabricated “emergency at the southern border,” is an historic vote. Historic because the majority of members of the House said “no” to tearing up the Constitution and “yes” to keeping its prescription of separation of powers with its checks and balances. It gave a resounding push back against Trump’s attempt to turn the legislative branch into nothing more than a debating society.

Unfortunately, only 13 Republican House members honored their oath of office to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. The other 182 Republicans voted to shred the Constitution to support a fictitious emergency as dictated to them by a president who likely has never read the Constitution and who daily displays his ignorance of its provisions.
